How releases happen

A daily job checks upstream GitHub Desktop for new stable releases and prepares a merge. After the Linux CI build and tests pass on Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04, the release is tagged, built and published with .deb, AppImage and SHA-256 files. Beta releases are not shipped. This site rebuilds when a release is published, so the download page always points at the latest version.

All releases, including assets for older versions, are on GitHub.
